Ive got my dads dog for a week while he is away. She normally goes to work with him during the day (hes a gardener) and apparently sleeps in the van most of the day with a walk at lunch time! I work in an office, and was hoping she will be able to come with me, sleep under the desk and have walks at brew time and lunch time (probably about 4/5 a day at the moment as we are so quiet!!). Do you think this will be ok? She is very sociable so Im sure she wont mind being in the office, plus there is only 3 of us anyway...with the occasional visitor! Im quite excited, never had a dog before!

I have never taken mine to work as I work in boring places

but my sister used to work at Blue Cross HQ and they ALL took their dogs to work

Slightly different as they were kitted out for it, i.e. had crates in their offices etc.

But (I can say this now she is retired) my mum used to run a small village library, working on her own, so she used to take one of her dogs in each time

The dog would sleep under the desk, and 99% of people never realised it was there

Go for it, I am sure you will get on fine

When I got my young girl she came with me to work & stayed under my desk & I could pop her ot for wee's at break times.

When she was on her 2nd season I left her at home (half a mile away) as didn't want her staining the carpet. Then never brought her back. I pop home for my lunch to take her out.

Weekends she comes to the stud with me & romps around all day with the 2 owners dog & a chap that comes brings his lurcher too! They generally have a blast playing in the chopped straw pile!

I do because they are my body guards/protection

Bit worried in case something goes wrong...but I have got an office full of vet nurses next door so should be ok )

I do, we have 17 dogs in the building

They all sleep under their owners' desks, most of them are on leads as well (Henry isn't but that is cos I am bad to the bone

He has a bed under there and a water bowl, and after he has done the morning meet and greet he just sleeps, then we have a walk at lunchtime.

I used to take Puppy to work with me when I worked in a village shop

She used to sleep in the office and be petted and spoilt by all the locals who would come in. It was also very handy when I was working late and if I had problems with the travellers in the village getting aggressive. I used to click my fingers and she'd come wandering out; they soon stopped being unpleasant to me

I take Zak and Millie to work with me..... the ladies in the nursing home love them to bits and they sleep in the corner on a towel.

They wander out occasionally to see if anyone has a biscuit hiding in their wheelchair........ which they often do

I do most definately. I'm a dog walker and she's on the staff!!! Keeps them all under control and rounds up stragglers (she's a collie!).

I used to be able to take her into an office with me when I worked in one. I was really stuck one day and asked my non dog loving boss and he agreed for one day only. Always one to push the boundaries I just kept bringing her in odd days until he said - I don't really like dogs but she's like one of the team!
