Does anyone use a Micklem as a bitless bridle? Any tips?

I’m looking at this as an option for my daughter’s pony, who she mostly rides bitless but would need a bit for shows and pony club. Pony is 14hh and my daughter is six - she just needs to give a gentle indication of what she wants, as the pony does all the thinking!

Borrowing one next week from a friend to try, so just looking for tips on how best to set it up (there seem to be three options?). Pony is in a crossunder style bridle at the moment.

The multibridle has the option to use as a crossunder; I'd start there if that's what the pony's used to
