Hi. I have a Kent and Masters cob gp saddle for my cob. Was thinking of getting a Thorowgood cob dressage saddle and I see there is a new T8 model with leather seat. Does anyone use these on their cob and what do you think of them.

I have the same GP as you, and a T4 cob dressage saddle. I really like it, but no experience of the T8 I'm afraid.

I has the T6 cob dressage for a while on my andalusian stallion in my sig, he was quite porky when i first brought him over from spain and had no wither so the T6 cob was the best option at the time. It fitted him ok i think, and def looks nicer than the old synthetic types. Cant say i was overly keen on it though, felt very perched and high up on him, and my instructor said it did nothing to help my position at all.
Now he's slimmed down and fits an ideal jessica dressage saddle, which feels so much better and more secure than the thorowgood. You may be ok though, if unlike me you dont need a saddle to keep you secure when your horse goes sideways, backwards and up in the air all at the same time:D

Thanks for the replies.

cob&onion - I thought the T8 looked good.

Natwood - we did get thin enough to fit our old wide saddle after winter but have now got xtra wide again! She is too fat to go sideways, backwards and up in the air at the same time - although she is still able to buck.
