Does anyone use a Volvo XC90 as a towing vehicle?

As above really, we're looking to replace an ancient Daihatsu 4track (it is a commercial version and we need something with seats in the back) used to tow an Ifor 506, and wondered if this would be up to the job, for a 420kg ish pony plus gear.

There's a lady on our yard has one, has an Ifor (not sure what model but fairly new) and tows a 15h comfortably if that helps :)

My mother is on her 4th Volvo (normal estate) and has liked all of them for towing, sheep & horses!!!!

We've got a Volvo xc 90 and a landrover and an ifor. Disco trumps Volvo every time, just a better feel IMO. If you are buying be VERY careful about getting the transmission checked. very expensive if they go and that and fly wheel are notorious in Volvos. As we have learnt!

Having said that, I love the Volvo as a GP car as much better on motorway and still very capable of pulling my trailer tho only had pony on the back not my mare too. Use LR for that.
