As in title, it seems to be really cheap down south, I just wondered if anyone has got this supplied up north! I would like to use one of them if possible. Thanks

Good luck - I have several suppliers locally of the Comfybed - and I use it happily for even the most grotty Fuzzy.

I contacted Eco and they can deliver a pallet of 30 for £7.60 per bale, which is comparable to easibed up here, but I think comfy bed comes in 25kg bags, rather than the 20kg easibed, so it may be worth it. I have a very dirty one too, straw is just taking too long to muck out with her. Apparently there are no suppliers up here. I've been reading about people paying £5/£6 a bale. There are lots of nice things about living in Scotland, but bargain horsey things aren't one of them

I find the best way for the Comfybed through the winter is to:
Put a really good deep bed.
Skip out droppings & level bed daily or twice daily if in a long time.
(Grit teeth for 1st week as the bed-stirrer will mash things about)
Then the bottom gets quite compacted.
I dont take out the wet unless it rises to the top (tho in the summer if in, I do take out all dirty stuff).
Usually 1 bale a week is all I need, I lob it in on a Sunday so bed is properly clean on the top at the start of the week.
Can last a v long time - then whats left in the spring that is recyclable, goes into the field shelters

Thanks for that, really useful information. The lady that contacted me from Eco was very helpful, it is a shame that they don't stock it further north! Do you use rubber matting underneath? I've read somewhere that someone puts the wet bed at their field entrance to help with the mud, apparently all the wee gets washed away and then the woodchip prevents the gateway getting too poached. Great idea

Yes, I do have rubber matting under.
I had the matting down long before I swapped to Comfybed, as the matting is great to stand things in on, for short times (I hate tying out in yard, but prob cos I've had so many youngsters)
Never used it outside, just for stables & field shelters.
