We have a mare who has been on bute daily for 6 months but can longer take it. It has been suggested to put her on Equioxx, has anyone got experience of using it long term?
I’ve used Bosmerix on an older horse, as has a friend of mine with hers. It was very effective but I hadn’t had him on Bute first to compare.my vet suggested he had found bosmerix effective as a bute alternative if I needed it. I haven't tried it so cannot comment.
thanks for posting, that's very useful to know.I’ve used Bosmerix on an older horse, as has a friend of mine with hers. It was very effective but I hadn’t had him on Bute first to compare.
Thank you, will take a look.We use Previcox back home quite often (even for longterm use instead of bute) which is Equioxx but cheaper.
Thank you, will take a look.
Where do you buy it from?We have our veteran arab on it and he seems to tolerate it well. I have bought it on prescription as too expensive via our practice. My understanding from our vet is that it is targeted joint relief rather than a blanket pain killer.
Unfortunately I said goodbye to our dear arab nearly 2 years ago now as this is an old thread. I did purchase it from an online pharmacy, so I think if you google you will be able to compare prices - you just need a prescription from your vet.Where do you buy it from?
