Does anyone use Mattes, Bartl or Stephens numnahs?

I have a mattes dressage numnah which is the Platinum grade, so really thick. It is a fab numnah but i find the binding rubs my horse at the front near his shoulder.
I need a similar thickness jumping numnah in pure wool and just wondered if anyone has tried any of the others like Bartl, or stephens numnahs, and whether they do the same thing.

I have a mattes full numnah and a Stephens half one.

Really they are both too thick. And even though they are beautiful they don't really benefit my horse. I'm going to flog the Stephens one on ebay and keep the other one as a spare.

I wish I'd just bought the Nuumed onesd to be honest.

I use the Mattes standard ones, just thin no lines and then use a mattes half pad if needed. Best numnahs I've ever used tbh.

Also got the Mattes corrector half pad (non wool lines) which you can slot the padding into where required

I've had both a Stephens dressage and GP numnah for about a year and am really pleased with them. No rubbing and they wash really well.

I have already got a nuumed one and i need a thicker one. My new saddle was fitted to accomodate a prolite pad and nuumed, he has rub marks at the back of the saddle which he always gets at this time of year but i would like to use a thicker wool numnah as i think it would be better for his back>

They aren't the easiest thing to get hold of, but I have some great numnahs from Lidl!! I think that they cost about £10, they have a fleece lined part under the saddle and are a really nice thick cotton on the rest of them.

The only problem with Lidl is that they don't have them in stock very often and it is more luck than judgement if you manage to get your hands on any - but they are great numnahs. I have 5 of them now, and they are the only numnahs that I use

I don't know if you can find them online from Lidl though...

I like the Morpheus Designs ones. The wool they use is like the nuumed ones, but they use a less thick, softer quilted fabric part so you get a much better fit. Also wash well

I have the Stephens half numnahs, one I have had for 3 years and regularly wash, it is still as good as new. However, I have my saddle fitted with the numnah on as it is so thick. My horse comes up with a soft swelling on his back if ridden in anything other than the stephens numnah.

This swelling has happened with numerous saddles that have been correctly fitted. I think he's a bit like the princess in the princess and the pea!

I have a Bartl Sheepskin numnah which is great, but very thick. I can only use it on one horse who has a very high whither and dipped back - it is great for him but it makes the other horse's saddle too tight.
