bought some last year and it was very expensive but am unsure if to use it now as it has warnings on the back of the bottle such as "dangerous for the environment" !

thanks

Hi, yes, I used it extensively a year or so ago for the "bug" season in the New Forest. It takes a while to build up to full strength and you do need to handle with a little care.....can't quite remember the details. Look on any US site as it's used a lot over there and I believe also in Europe. I wouldn't worry too much about the sticker on the bottle saying not for use on horse,,,, I think it's a licence thing. Instructions for use on horse are on most of the US sites, but, I mainly wiped it on with a jay cloth kept just for that purpose and after a couple of weeks it really helped.

I was even able to leave the fly rug off some of the time. Couldn't keep everything away all the time but nothing seemed to land and bite.

Best fly repellant I have ever used. It is licensed for use on horses in the US.

My last boy had a sweet itch free summer on this when he was living out.

I used tri tec and found it helpful for our horse who has sweet itch. I now use Deosect which you dilute yourself with water and it works out cheaper. They both have the same active ingredient which is cypermethrin.

I use it too - its' brilliant stuff! The blurb about it not being for use on horses is just a licensing thing - it's licensed for horses everywhere else in the world

Ditto what's been said, I got a bottle after my youngster was being eaten alive and noticed a huge difference. Hardly any flies were landing on him and it helped with his sweet itch. Well worth the money!

I find that after the initial couple of applications there really is no need to reapply more often than once a week. It's that good. I ordered a bottle yesterday so I'm armed for the onslaught this summer. Do hope there's not an outbreak of particularly evil flies this year after our unusually mild, wet winter.

I have used it for a couple of years too; however when I tried it on my little grey last year he had a horrendous reaction to it which resulted in it burning off most of the top layers of skin. Poor boy was in so much pain and he was off work for about 3 months so do test it out (I tested it out first as well and it was ok on normal thick skin on shoulder/hindquarters but not on belly/sheath/legs).
