Turning out this morning. Mac normally goes out with Charlie, but since bad choke last week, Charlie can't go out until all clear from vet. So rather than put Mac out on his own, he is going out with Sorrel, my friends other horse.
Taking Mac first, get halfway down track and he starts being a git, pulls away from me and charges off across farm field. Stops and starts eating, manage to catch him. Wrap lead rope around his nose. Twice more he tries to get away, but he cant really breathe and gives up.
Get him to field, lead him into field, take headcollar off and go to shut gate. As I am shutting gate, he barges me, pushes through gate and gallops flat out back up track and into yard. Go back up and he is in his stable, 2 of girls think it is funny. I am soaking and really pd off.
Get the chiffney. Take him to field again. 4 times he tries to get away but he cant. Get him to field. Get him in field and shut gate while still got hold of him. Let him go and climb over gate to go and get Sorrel. As I am walking up track he is yelling his head off and I am half expecting him to come charging past because he has jumped gate. (He jumped 5 bar school gate before Christmas because he'd had enough).
Get Sorrel. As I am going back down track I can hear him yelling. Keep seeing orange head popping above bushes as he is rearing at the gate. Get to field, make him move back so can get Sorrel in. Mac trots off happy as larry and starts eating grass!
SINCE WHEN HAS HE HAD A PROBLEM BEING OUT ON HIS OWN?
Not that he was on his own as such. There were 3 horses in next door but 1 field, and I was only 5 mins getting Sorrel.
Finally left yard at 5 past 8. Should have been in work at 8. Will probably get pneumonia now as well as was soaked from the knees down. Wellies full of water.

Free to first taker and will even deliver if I can get him on lorry. No returns please.
