Hi everyone.

I'm a long time reader and decided to jump on bored and join! Woop!

I was wondering if anyone can try and help me find a horse?! I've been looking for a month - not very long, but i've not found anything i really like. I've only phoned up about a couple - i will only call if i am very interested in that horse. The first one had sarcoids, and i'm not keen on these! The second is sold subject to vetting, owner said he'd call if the interested people pull out and it does well with the vet.

I feel really down about finding my perfect horse, i have one on loan, but he can only do dressage, which is nice, but i miss jumping so much! I sold my boy at the start of this year (i had him from 4yrs till 8yrs).

So if you do want to help in my search, i'm looking for the following :)

It will be for eventing, i previously done mainly show jumping and dressage, and only a small amount of XC, but i really enjoyed it taking my old boy over intro and pre-novice fences.

I would like the horse to be a minimum of 16.1hh but no bigger than 17.1hh really - I'm almost 6ft. Around 5 to 10yrs roughly. I would prefer if it has started eventing doing at least some Intro/Pre-Novice, but has the scope to go Novice at least. If it's well schooled and has Show Jumped is a bonus, but if it's been eventing it's at least got all the basics and i can work more on things. I am looking to spend around £7000 - £8000, but can go up to but not really any more than £10,000.

Can anyone find my horse?! The bigest problem.... i'm not into Bays :( I just can't bring myself to get excited over them. Any other colour but.... thats the tricky bit!

Oh, and I'm in Norfolk, i really don't want to travel much more than 3 hours away if possible.

*cookies for everyone!*

I like the second grey.... but is about 4 1/2 hours from us, so a little far :(

I rather like the last one too, Sounds promising with good breeding! One of the horses I called about was by Sea Crest :) This ones about 3ish hours, so not to bad!

Thank you very much.

The Rose Grey looks just like an old horse of ours!

I really like the grey irish!! I'll have to check the distances :) Looks like it could be a promising horse.

Thank you! :D This is definitely making me look in different directions and horses i wouldn't usually of checked out.

That Chestnut looks really nice, is it me or does it seem possibly a bit cheap?

Hmm... I Thought it was! The Chestnut is being sold by the same person who was selling the horse i liked off Horsequest which is sold. 16hh might be a little small for me though :(

A good horse doesn't come in a bad colour!
I swore I would never have a grey, or a mare....I bought a grey mare eight weeks ago and she is fantastic.
If it ticks every other box a bay might be worth thinking about?

I know, i've seen a few bays i quite like, but i don't know why i can't seem to see myself with one. My sister has always had bays, and i guess i've always liked to be different. My first pony was blue roan, my next was a liver chestnut mare, and then a coloured, and now loaning a chestnut.

I'm going to be calling about the grey: http://www.horsemart.co.uk/eventers_horse_6_yrs_16_1_hh_steel_grey_west_sussex/advert/120619 later on today to see where abouts they are, they might be to far away. If not i'd like to see him, if he sounds like a contender :)

I may also call about the chestnut, as i do like the look of it, http://www.horsemart.co.uk/all_rounder_horse_10_yrs_16_0_hh_liver_chestnut_kent/advert/120972 though i'm not 100% on it.

This is so hard!

Thank you everyone for your help :) keep them coming! Hehe.

just to say - i like bay horses but didnt want one.... im now on my third :D

dont rule out the bays - common as - and fwiw i dont think my mare is that pretty!... but shes good for what i bought her for....

dont mean to sound horrid and slag my horse off :D i do love her to bits but if i was being picky she would have been chestnut or grey :)

Hey guys.

No luck so far, ones i have liked have been sold or don't sound right on the phone.

I've found one i really like sounds perfect! I called and he sounds so lovely and he's a big grey 16.2 10yr sports horse done lots of eventing, consistant at Inter and done a few * and a ** and is priced for a quick sale at £10k! (he pulled a hind lig 4 years ago and hasn't stopped him since, so i'm not worried about it). But dad says he's not sure about going that high with how things are at the moment... gutted! He said he might of done before but has to pay the tax man... i hate him (the tax man not my dad :D).... My sister thought he sounded like a dream and even wished she had the money or could get dad to buy him for herself! Lol. She said we could swap, i have her old boy and she have him... i laughed at her :p

Dad said we could go and see it, so i'm going to call back. But dads away this weekend, so if he's still about in a weeks time then we will be heading down to have a look at him.

I'm going to ask the lady if she will have any room with the cost, as it will be a really loving long term home! I don't think he'll be coming with any tack or rugs either, so being at the very top of what i might be able to spend i then wouldn't have any spare to buy things for him, which would not be a good thing! :(

I may have to consider a bay, but it will have to be a special one :) i haven't seen one yet that i think wow... even though it's bay i want to see that! *fingers crossed*

Thank you everyone! :D x x

I hadn't called as it was a little further than we'd thought about going and in a rubbish location of us almost having to go into London to get there.... BUT i think i may try and see if dad would travel a little further and give them a call, becuase he is very cute!! I'd forgotten how much i liked him! And a good price too :)

I'll let you know what he says...

Thank you Natalie!! :D x x
