Looking for a good set of cordless clippers Lister or heiniger are my preference need to be able to cope with welsh cob my tb would prefer something quiet.
A friend of mine has sold her horse and has some Moser Avalon ones for sale, used only two or three times, I have these for clipping my IDxTB and they're great, battery lasts ages ! PM me if you're interested.
Yup they do and they are the quiestest of the lot with the lowest vibration in the clipper head.
You can't run them along a thick coat, like sheep shears, in the way you can with some of the very gutsy mains ones. I have to do a double pass over her croup as she gets quite greasy there (even though I bath before clipping and groom to remove grease before clipping). The legs you have to do steadily too, if your horse is coarse haired. I go with the hair first and then against growth to finish off.
My horse was a total clipper phobe before I got the Avalon's. I have some Premier 3000c mains clippers and she won't let them anywhere near her.
