fancy selling me a small sample? I'm very interested in trying it for my poor doer (i'm thinking about winter already) but he's a very fussy eater and I don't wnat to buy a whole bag if he's going to turn his nose up at it.

I have tried to get a sampel from teh company that make it but to no avail

I feed it but unfortunatly I'm in NZ - MAF would not be happy.

I found that you need to introduce it slowly and they will happily eat it - give too much too soon and then you risk the horse refusing to eat it.

It needs to be soaked - it swells immensly - I gave my youngsters about a cup full before soaking. It does help to give them a good shine and is very economical.

Make sure that you get it from a reputable dealer. A year or so back farmers in NZ where banned from feeding it as there had been some that had been poorly dried and contained mycotoxins that were also then found in the milk. Since then it had gone through rigorous checking before being imported.

It has something to do with the conditions that it is in when drying.
