Iv been offered an interview to work for a local equine charity.
I originally applied for a hands on job with the ponies but didnt get that job, but they have now got back in touch asking if I would be interested to join them in their office dealing with admin/fundraising etc etc
Just wondering if anyone else does this, do you find it rewarding?
:)

I volunteered at a local equine charity and lasted about 6 months! they never said thank you, left me on my own at the yard for hours on end - i was 15 at the time, and i worked so hard that i eventually ended up with blisters covering my hands!
and what did I get...? ignored, NEVER thanked, and taken for granted. I worked so so so so hard there and i wasnt even offered a free ride, even though they gave lessons. Also, they only had two horses that were able to be ridden, and used the charities money to look after their own horses! Sorry if this is all a bit negative, but just please be aware that although they may seem friendly at first, it may not take long for them to start to take advantage of you!

Crikey they really did take advantage!!
Thanks for your story - this is actually just an office based job, and paid so hopefully nothing like that should happen :)
