Give my mare one sachet of Danilon a day to help her Ringbone. I was trying to give it to her in her breakfast so it would be 'working' while she was out in the field, but she gets too antsy about going out and won't eat all her breakfast. If I give it to her in her tea and leave the bowl in her stable it's gone by the morning. I thought Danilon wore off after 12 hours, but someone at the yard told me it has an accumulative effect? Is that correct?

No, it doesn't wear off but obviously it will be less effective at the end of 24 hours - giving it to your horse every day will keep her topped up and comfortable. If she won't eat all her feed in the morning, it makes more sense to feed it at night. You could try putting half a sachet in a smaller breakfast and half a sachet at night?

I tried that this morning, a small bit of fast fibre, apple juice and apples (normally a favourite), but she took one mouthful and spat the rest of it out!! Think I'm going to have to stick to just giving her tea with danilon in it:rolleyes::)
