I brought my cob back into work at the beginning of the year. Having never been taught to work correctly in an outline and use himself well, he picked it up really quickly and we progressed in leaps and bounds. However we have now hit a bit of a stale period, and things feel harder. Im sure its just because we are now moving onto the next 'stage' if you like. But i just wanted to know how do others get through these periods???

What are your aims? If it is to continue to have a nce horse to hack - than spice his and yours life up a bit with some pleasure rides / hunting later in the summer / autumn. If you have wider apsirations to compete, then join a RC - go to some comps, have a bit of fun at lower level, try a new instructor, join grpup lessons, go on an adult PC camp....etc. etc.

Thanks dressedkez, some good ideas there. We are aiming at doing some ode, and have been out to a couple of dressage test a xc and showjumping recently. I just want him to go perfectly and any little mishaps really affect my thinking........
