Does Horse and Hound have too much of an Eventing bias?

Given that tommorow's front cover is yet again featuring event riders, do you think that Horse and Hound gives equal consideration to ALL equestrian sports?

Should it perhaps be renamed "Eventing and Hound" or "my friend Pippa"?

I vote for ''my friend Pippa'' :D I think it's a great title.
But in answer to your question, no, it doesn't give equal consideration to all sports, but TBH, I don't really care either way.

Having been to both Burghley and the dressage nationals this year I can tell you which had more spectators. They're bound to lean towards the sports with more followers.

What about the Grand National, Gold Cup and Derby?

I event though so quite like the bias!

Ooh, I vote for my friend pippa too, it would be like a weekly Pullein-Thompson ;)

I don't buy HH, I find it pretty dull tbh, I only come on here for the giggles ;)

Although I was quoted in it the other week, thanks to HHO :D

As an eventer I enjoy the fact that it does focus on eventing ever so slightly more than others, but I generally think that's what *most* readers would prefer also? If we were to do a poll as to which discipline is your favourite or something, I reckon eventing would come out on top.

Although I'm probably very biased seeing as I can name all the top eventers and their horses but can't tell the Whitakers apart....

No I wouldn't say so. I think it's more hunting, racing and showing orientated or maybe thats because those are the bits I'm not in to. Trying to stop buying it though as find I only read about 5 pages.

Does it? Seems to me racing sj and dressage get equal coverage. The eventers on the cover might have something to do with the event season is knocking at the door!

Its probably the only reason that I buy it - and for the ads.. I rarely buy it in winter but buy it frequently in summer to read about events or see previews of big courses. I think that there is a good mix of showing, sj, dressage and eventing/hunting in winter. Eventing magazine is impossible to find or I would probably buy that (I've only ever seen it at Robinsons and don't want a subscription!) If it was just covering hunting it would probably lose most of its readers nowadays..
