This is a picture of my ID mare i wish to show in Ridden Hunter and working hunter classes but she is hogged, does this matter? Most Ridden and working hunters i see are plaited. obviously i wont be going to HOYS or anything huge but still want to try our best this year.
(I will also be showing in tweed and a tie not a stock)

Also can you recomend any other classes that would suit us?

Your help would be most appreciated
(i hope the picture worked)
Thank you Katie and Dublin

Your link doesn't work.

Does your mare have to be hogged? It would really be better if she were plaited for both ridden and working hunter classes. Usually horses are only hogged for cob classes.

yes sorry i cant get the picture to work????. She was origianally hogged because she grows such an upright thick main the plaits always looked silly no mater who did them so i hogged her for last years showing, No negative comments were made and judges said i should show in in hunter classes as she could do well but im worried the main will let me down
try this link??????

Normally for showing only cobs are hogged, is the horse of cob tyre? ridden cob/ working cob classes. if its only local shows i dont know if it would matter so much but looking at county and qualifing shows deffently hunters with manes plaited.

How big is she? My old instructor shows her ID hogged but she doesn't do ridden hunter classes, she does cobs, ID breed classes, workers and riding club horse.

She is an Irish Draught i have attached an album to my profile im not sure why my picture wont show???? Thank you for al the replys very helpfull. I will only be doing local shows and if she brilliant then maybe i will grow her main haha . Thank you very much x

Too big for cob classes then and having looked at your pictures she doesn't look chunky enough to show as a maxi cob.

Give it a go, at local level you might get away with it. I've won a working hunter class on a hogged and trimmed maxi cob at a riding club show. You would need to plait though I think for higher level stuff.

Yes i think at local shows then i will keep her as she is as i dont think i will be going anywere HUGE with her she is just my hunter/ hack.
Thank you for your help
