Does my hackamore fit correctly?

Hi, I have had my welsh cob in a hackamore for about a year now as I couldnt find a bit which he would settle in. He loves it and goes realy well in it.
I bought a secondhand one to start with to make sure he went ok in it (this fitted fine) Last month I decided to buy a new one. I was sold one on ebay as full size but when I tried it on, it still was not big enough despite punching two more holes in it. Just bought another one off ebay (full size again) as the picture looked like there was alot more room for adjustment but it still is slightly too small! The problem I am having, is it doesnt seem to adjust enough to make it long enough over his nose, so im worried the cheekpeices are too close to his eyes. He does have quite a big head, but the first one I bought fitted fine, so why am I having trouble finding a full size on that actualy fits?

Hi, I bought an English Hackamore last week with sheepskin nose pad and have found the exact problems you are having so what I did after putting more holes and it was still tight I put the leather strap from a flash as the curb, also felt this was kinder but it made it a bit bigger, and from my own experience the noseband part must sit just at the top of the opening for the nostrils you can feel them under the skin so just below where a cavesson would sit and to be able to put 1 finger in the strap behind the jaw, mine did seem to make the cheek straps close to the eye as well so I just dropped the checkstraps one hole and made the chin strap a bit tighter now it looks okay
