Does pregnancy make some mares more mellow?

PF has been unusually calm and chilled out since coming back into work. I'm wondering if this has something to do with her being pregnant? Last time she was in foal she was 4, and I didn't do much with her. She was also quite cranky then! (I think she prefers to be in work than not)
So, anyone noticed behavioural differences in their pregnant mares? PF has never had seasonal mood swings, but she's always been spooky and a bit turbo-charged.

Definately. A mare I had was absolutely 110% chilled with everything when she was in foal and I couldn't find anything at all that bothered or frightened her. When the foal was weaned it was a different story and her true colours came out.

Ooh, so I can expect a return to loony PF?

That's the main reason I liked being pregnant, that strange feeling of mellowness, unfortunately in my case it was allied to extreme forgetfulness and the ability to lose things. Like the pair of shoes I put in the freezer and the car keys that were in the microwave and the other set of car keys that we still haven't found (daughter is 17 tomorrow so I don't suppose there's much hope now).

Enjoy PF being like it whilst it lasts!

Hello! I've worked on stud yards and all of the mares react differently to being in foal and having the foal at foot. Some become aggressive and continue to be aggressive after having the foal weaned whilst other chill out and are angels from then on. Lets hope your mare stays nice and calm!!
