Does second mite injection have to be exactly two weeks later?

As title. My boy is due his second mite injection on Tuesday but silly me forgot to ring up and book and forgot it is good Friday today! 🙈 I will be ringing up first thing Tuesday morning but it’s possible they might not be able to get him in that quickly. It’s solved the itchiness so it definitely was mites. World Horse Welfare recommend three weeks apart on their website and some say two. Others say if they had a course before then just a top up one every three to six months is recommended. He did have a course about six months ago so unsure if he needs any more anyway but I would have thought two is needed to break the cycle. It’s amazing how well it’s worked. He’s not a hair horse and his feathers are trimmed but it really itches him when he gets bad. He starts itching on wheelbarrows and his water bucket and this has all magically stopped!

Yes I think so, otherwise the ones it's supposed to kill can become mature enough to have reproduced again and carry on the cycle. Sorry!

You can do it yourself if you can pick up the stuff from your vet.

Honestly a day or two will be fine. We used to do three weeks when it first came out. The life cycle of the mite is not exactly 14 days zero hours zero minutes.
