Don't know why but the sole is usually a lot flatter than this. She was shod barefoot for the last shoeing.
Ahh thanks Equi. In 15 years I've never seen her sole like this before.I’d say it’s just a build up of sole because it’s not in contact with anything to shed off.
In that one I'm just distracted by the need to have very straight triangular frogs.
Hi the horse has a check ligament injury from 21st December. Vet called out immediately as horse very lame initially which wore off within a couple of days.Whenever there's a case of some weird shoeing approach, there always seems to be a vet behind that decision...
ETA - I don't think HB shoes are a bad decision from a remedial POV for certain issues (what is the ACTUAL underlying reason?). I don't think they're necessary for the pigeon toe issue.
