He must look different now though? Perhaps I am missing something, but I don't think you are going to learn whether anyone on here thinks your horse is genuinely in good condition now by posting old pics!
He looks nice and fit, with reasonable muscle tone, too many horses carry too much weight, especially on their stomachs. He looks nicely covered, just about perfect side on in fact, though you would ideally have to see him from the rear to make a proper judgement on condition. Perhaps he was commented on by a showing persons lol! Though I would be perfectly happy showing him as a working hunter in this condition.
Just that someone said he was in poor condition,
obviously they dont know what they are talking about !

They might not, but then we have not seen any pictures taken in the last few months, a horses condition can vary hugely. You obviouly think he was , and still is in great condition so I am abit confused about what this post is trying to acheive

Can you post some new ones?

No he is no different now, They are the last pics I have of him as we recently sold him, I just wanted to know what people thought of him in those pics, but thanks for your comments anyway,

Like I said I just wanted a opinion on what he looked like in those pictures, and I have got the answers I wanted, Thankyou,
That is exactly how a horse should look, none of this "show condition" rubbish. Better slim and fit than wobbling all over the place. Obesity is as bad as starvation.

I am the proud new owner of Joshua, who Janette is refering to.
I did say he was poor when we bought him, but i did by no means say he was an RSPCA case. I hope no one read that as his previous owners did not care from him properly......they did, very much so.
What i meant was he was unfit, had no muscle, and he was a little lean for my liking ( i do not like them show condition, i do not show, i like them fit, muscled and with a decent covering). He was sold due to lack of time hence the unfitness etc.
Joshua came from a loving home with Janette and is now in and equally loving home where he is spolit rotten, and is gradually, getting fitter, and putting on a little weight.

Thankyou for the reply, I know he went to the best home thats why we sold him to you, It was a very very hard desicion to make, but i know we made the right one, as he was not getting the attention he deserved as I said to you,
I look forward to reading all about Joshuas progress and antics on the forum,
I would be careful, Beatrice, about him putting on weight - I wouldn't want more weight on him than in those photos. Muscle and fitness, yes, but not weight. As others have said, he already has a gutter on his bottom. (Belly size is no real indicator of condition - a big belly just shows they have eaten a lot of fibre). Speaking as a farrier's wife I know firsthand what dangers over-feeding can cause.
