What a stunning horse, if he was for sale under a heading of well schooled fit and ready to go, I would be interested, but not with that description, which doesn't fit the picture to my eye? Does anyone know these people? they seem to have a lot of slightly, um, bizarre horses/adverts

Looks fit and ready to go to me. The stomach is a dead give away. Not sure why you are put off, sounds like a nice sort.

Dont see anything wrong with the ad to be honest, it doesnt say hes fit or mentions anything about his fitness , I think the ad is pretty self explanatory .

Your obviously looking for a fit competition horse that is ready to go on . Hes def not that lol it says it all in the ad

I don't know these people, but they advertise a lot..and the prices suggest to me that they buy cheap imports, real youngsters or meat money horses. I assume this gelding is in the last catagory.

He might make a hack for somebody, but if he has the potential to do even that it would be worth their while keeping him for a month and bringing him on. You have to ask yourself why they are prepared to sell him now and miss that profit.

These are the people I posted about recently that had a 2 year old Appy for sale that had been ridden and driven on main roads by an experienced 9 year old! You can always tell their adverts by the terrible spelling - or should that be "teribull spelin"

can't see a problem with the ad TBH. Sounds like a great little horse. My horse does 'occasional' hacking and can't remember the last time I cantered her. She lives out and keeps reasonably fit.

If the seller is being honest then I would say he would make a nice hack for someone who is just wanting to take it easy.

My last mare wasnt broken to ride until she was 10, and couldnt canter under saddle until she was 11 because she was used to only doing walk and trot being a driving pony, so I wouldnt rule him out.

If i was looking i would definatley go and look at him, he looks a very nice sort just lacking muscle. He doesn't look completely 'unfit' to me just has some filling out to do, very kind face, quite tempted myself. My dad always says, you don't know until you look!

can i ask what is so bad about the description of this horse?
i think its stunning and would certainly pay the price its up for. ok you can see theres not much muscle definition to him but he looks in great shape and is a beauty... be careful what you are posting about other peoples horses as you can be tarnishing these peoples names.

to be honest I see nothing wrong with it, what were you expecting for £1400

Also please me careful what you post! If I was this person I would be incredibly angry, and I am sure if you were advertising and found a post like this made about the horse you wouldnt be happy

That is why he is the price he is... cheap. looks a fab sort for novice to love and have fun with. You wont get a champion for that sort of money. Nice horse, nice price, cant see nothing wrong with it. The advert doesnt say he is fit, just had some light hacking by a novice, so should'nt have any blemishes if he has'nt done any hard work..

I think what the OP means is that the horse is stunning, looks a picture of health but looks like it's been in a reasonable amount of work recently rather than barely doing anything as the ad makes out.
I agree- it seems a little dodgy that they claim he's dodgy in canter as this could be a sign he's wrong behind so cant cope with the level of work he was in...

Hello - and thank you some one who got what I was asking. I wasn't complaining at the price !!, - but the picture and description didn't imho seem to match

. I agree he is absolutely stunning, and if I didn't already have 2 field ornaments would be sorely tempted to have a look
crazy.gif
. But whoa there everyone - I was asking a serious question re the photo - as per the title, did he look fit to you?- and I think only about 2 people actually answered that. The rest was my opinion and I see nothing wrong in the queries I raised. And yes, shoot me if you like, but I firmly believe in 'caveat emptor', and view all ads on : - "hmmm what aren't they telling me?" - based on the horses I've been to see recently - I still hold that opinion.........
