It doesnt look like it fits right at the back to me but its not terrible. also looks very small on him for some reason probably adding to the look that it doesnt fit right. I think your doing the right think getting the saddler out to check it

Ditto looks too small and maybe needs slightly wider panels? Just seems it's 'perched' there too much.

It's impossible to tell from photos, but I would say,not the best.

Typical poor wintec fit - tree's too curved for his flat back and the panels slope too much so the outside edge is going to dig in. The width and balance don't look terrible (not great picture to tell) but it's going to rock up at the back when you stand in the stirrups.

The wintecs don't fit many horses (that looks like the CC jump version?) and he's one of them. A saddler may try to put a narrower gullet in to stop the rocking but it'll just make it too narrow and pinch.

If you like the wintecs to ride in try the Wide Cob version instead - they can be a really good fit on fairly stocky but not flated backed ponies like him. They come up long though - a 17" fits like a large 17.5".

Otherwide do have a look at the Thorowgoods (T6's look and feel like leather, more so than the wintecs) or the leather Kent and Masters version.

well so glad so many can comment whilst not at the scene! get your saddle fitter to check the fit before and when on! get then to access the fit to the horse and the fit to you (hip to knee very important!) but do agree that the saddle looks small /short for this horse! and not a fan of sythentic saddles!my addvice would be buy a good english that fits! be it second hand and wont loose much value!

thanks every one have got the saddler coming out over next few days not sure when but he is waiting for a kent an masters jump saddle to come in so is having somthing done :) not looking faward to the cost :S
