Having struggled vainly with mud fever and posted on here for advice, there is light at the end of the tunnel. I bought some aromaheel ointment, some people recommended, but admit that because of the price and doubts that it would be any better than sudacream it was a last resort. However, after only two days I can see an improvement. Bad news is that a £16 pot only lasted me for three days, and I have now run out and am anxiously waiting delivery of some more. But I am really impressed, what ever is in it, could be coincidence I suppose but am feeling so relieved at the moment !

someone (i cant remember who) said the other day on the forum about feeding aloe vera helped clear up mud fever which they could not get rid of just stuff brought from Holland and Barrett, might be a thought, but very glad you have found something that works

If you've used a pot up in 3 days then you must be a little too generous - LOL

Honestly you don't need a too thick layer on the legs, just enough to lubricate and cover all the infection.

Wonderful stuff, their other products are amazing as well.

JUst a thought when you have rid of the mudfever, try washing legs once a week in just plain water and drying to just damp then slavering on pig oil or unperfumed baby oil, really work it in under the fetlock joint and into the hair. Works wonders to keep the legs dry and mud free and any mud that does stick doesn't manage to get down to the skin.
