Our new boy seems to love them, and to think he hated having his face brushed 4 weeks ago!

Are your horses cuddly?

Ive never had an affectionate horse before now.

yes pickle is, and when my dad stands with him he looks exactly the same as your BFG. strangely simular!

He likes hugs and he likes nuzzling you

My boy is very very cuddly and gets quite demanding if he thinks he's being ignored. Which is just as well since im a very cuddly owner and would terrorise a none affectionate horse

Mouse is very cuddly, she loves her forlock being played with, but she is cheeky as if you are doing somthing she doesn't want you todo e.g pull her mane or put her bridle on she doesn't fuss she just puts her head in my chest to give her a cuddle and she knows i do !!!
Lottie is not cuddly at all though and niether were my ponys, i always wanted a cuddly horse

Only one of mine does and she will stand and go to sleep in my arms. I really enjoy giving her cuddles, my old mare is very aloof and will only be interested in having a stroke for polo and my yearling is'nt very bothered.

Nope, he's not affectionate in the slightest

. He'll tolerate cuddles, but has a very bored grumpy look on his face, and will pull away as soon as possible. Ungrateful little moo

Cropi will have a cuddle when she wants one but she gets bored quite quickly. She is happier to have a cuddle when she is on the corale than in the field, she doesn't get much choice though I just take cuddles

As long as its not right in right of all his mates and the fit birds in the mares field he has come round to loving a nice huggly...In his stable he'll follow me around and nudge...Stand where I'm mucking out all sorts for attention!

My mare has learned to like being groomed but she really doesn't see the point in cuddling and moves away as if to tell me to "get a grip"

My horse loves cuddles, if i walk away she will follow me and nudge me to remind me she wants a love.

But my sisters horse just puts his ears back, he's not nasty just lets you know he isnt bothered about having a cuddle.

My new horse quite likes cuddles, but my old boy was different; he'd tolerate them from the ground (sometimes) but if you tried to hug him when you were on his back he'd fling his head in the air and whack you in the face!

oh yes! Pidge adores cuddles, he has several favourite scratch places that he can't reach but mum can
grin.gif
and he has the most expressive muzzle I have ever seen - loves wiggling it from side to side. we also play mum grabbing his tongue when he sticks it out, he keeps on doing it so can only assume he enjoys it
smirk.gif
and his favourite trick is to grab the toggle on my tops and shake his head up and down undoing and doing my top up in the process - just have to make sure I have a top on underneath or it can be a tad embarrassing

Loves having under his tail tickled very gently, sends him all gooey eyed and if you stop he looks round at you and very gently shuffles his bottom up to you to keep doing it

Benji likes a good cuddle on the quiet, but only when the others aren't watching. Twirl likes a bit of a cuddle but then headbutts you and carries on with his hay. Alfie is very cuddley and loves a bit of fuss and Tilly & Evie love cuddles but Tilly gets very jealous if she thinks she is missing out on a bit of love LOL!!

depends what mood they're in. Sometimes maddy is so affectionate and will lick you to death or try to groom you, other times the ears will flatten, the nose will wrinkle up and the teeth will bare!
Flash sometimes likes cuddles and gets very upset if I pay Maddy attention, but he chews EVERYTHING so can be quite difficult to cuddle without having your hair, clothes or flesh chewed!

That is so weird, I hve just been having a good old snuggle with Sov. He is the most affectionate horse I have ever had, he loves to sniff and nibble (very gently) at my cheek, he goes all gooey eyed. Touchy on the other hand is not cuddly but likes to be scratched all over.

My mare loves cuddles and kisses thats the first thing she wants when you get to the yard, when i first got her she was so nervy has come on lots.

My boy is learing to like cuddles after almost 4 years with me! My OH's mare only gets cuddly when there is something wrong with her (that's how we know when she is off colour!), usually she is a grumpy madame but gets friendly and huggy when she's not feeling herself!

Banjo loves cuddles, but not to begin with. Dolly is getting used to me cuddling her, but she is not so keen and she can be stroppy at times, so I pick my moments!

Archie is really affectionate, he loves everyone and will happily stand having cuddles for hours if he could - anything to get out of work!!

Bloss isnt very cuddly, however shes very cute when she wants to be!!

Fudgy loves kisses and cuddles and hugs, he also licks like a dog

Lady likes having her nose stroaked, she puts her head on your shoulder for a cuddle, very sweet, even falls asleep on you and she has the cutest little whicker
