well the next morning he went out,ud think he was a 3 yo racehorse the way he went up the road and well when i let him go that was it !! he left me covered in mud and off he went bucking and farting up the hill !!

Yep!

The only time my horse has kicked me was the day after I had given him a big walloping to go past some pigs (which didn't work - I was trying to set a precedent but no joy

).

As I turned him out the next day he kicked me on the bum! Just a cheeky little kick, didn't feel like a kick, just a pat really, he had his ears pricked and did it, then trotted off looking pleased! I had a dirty hoofprint on my bum, but that was all! I'm sure he did it in revenge, and I could see his point entirely. It might seem like coincidence, but in the ten years I've had him, he's never hit my head with his, or stood on my foot, he is generally excellent with personal space so I'm sure he did it on purpose!

oh yes . every time i go x country schooling and practice the water jump i always end up sitting in the water with jack standing on the bank could swear that hes laughing at me "well if i'm getting wet mum so are you" he even does it when someone else rides him. typical man

Well I am not surprised! You gave him a "big walloping"!!!! to "go past some pigs".

Look up equine history. Try to understand why your horse is worried. Introduce him to some pigs. Take your time. Then try again...without hitting him.

Then he may not lose his confidence in you again.

Titus is very funny, when u ride him and he does something naughty u tap him with the whip and he behaves (a bit better!) but if u tap him when he hasn't done anything he just explodes and stomps around for a couple of minutes!!!
Flynn ALWAYS makes me walk down the field to get him then he promptly gallops up the hill and waits for me at the gate!!!

My horse doesn't like schooling very much (he's always hunted!) and when we're doing gridwork in our lessons, our instructor won't let us go down the grid until the canter is right. so we canter a few 20m circles and then just as i'm about to take him down the grid we lose all steering and he does a perfect shoulder in all down the long side of the school, or he broncs until he's got the message acorss that he doesnt like cantering in little circles!
My sisters horse has what we call 'angry foot' which he stamps harder than the others when he's cross about something. but my sister can't do anything other than laugh at it.!
