My horse is normally completely chilled out, but can get wound up for no apparent reason.

Today we went out for a hack and as soon as we left the yard he was on edge. He was spooking at everything the nothing. When we had to stop to let a car passed he lost the plot and flew backwards straight into someone's garden. And their neighbours were out gardening

Then when we were coming home he saw a bike and again flew backwards into the middle of the road and everytime I put my leg on he would just rear.

So I decided to take him in the school and he went like a bloody angel

I just don't get them sometimes.

definately yes.....

we are having a whole month of them and I haven't dared take him further than the block for the last few weeks

Am venturing out tomorrow morning to give him a blast and see if it is pent up energy....

One of mine does this every time I hack him!?!?! Especially motorbikes, lorries and buses! thinking of sticking cotton wool down his ears?? makes it interesting tho don't you think??

Oh yes definately! Sometimes we do not even get out of the field onto the road because he has seen some imaginary monster and we start side stepping and snorting...there is nothing there but we have to leap about as if there is!!!! And then he starts ducking and diving at things that flutter in the hedgerows!!!!!! I find he packs it in if I take a shorter rein and really push him on so he is working hard.

My usually rock solid lad is being a prize prat at the moment. Everytime we've been out this week, for no apparent reason he's thrown his toys out of the pram at least once per hack. Tomorrow I'm going to take him on the gallops and see if its a bit of spring fever that he wants to get out of his system!

My horse reminds me of myself ----- some days are great, some he's a bit hyper, some he can't be bothered.....He's definitely quite moody and inconsistent ...... he's an animal I guess. We all have moods and off days don't we.
