We have a Loading the Less Easy Horse course taking place in Witney, Oxfordshire on March 7th/8th and we need more tricky loaders for students to practise on!

If you can get your tricky horse to Witney there will be NO CHARGE for your horse or for you to accompany him/her for the two days either. Please go to info@ihhq.net and give us your details.

In answer to your question yes my horses do all load really easily. In no small part down to following IH methods and working with them in a language they completely understand.

I have my girl living about 3miles away from Witney.
Where is the course, the Witney and Abingdon college or something?
I would think she is a perfect example - using IH tools i have managed to get her a bit better - but she still has a serious think about it,,, (some days will walk straight in, some days not,)
We have been using a large Rice trailer with no partition, with a partition in we had more problems, so we just removed it! - Getting her into a Ifor size thing with partition would give your students something to work on! She can be a little bargie too (were working on this at the moment)
She is a Seriously strong willed brood mare recently brought into work, if she doesnt want to do it, your students might have some good lessons!
What information should I be sending to you??

Doesn't this ocount as advertising?
I don't have any difficult loaders..and I don't subscribe to 'IH' method-just to balance the books ;)

My mare is difficult to load, In fact, she sounds a lot like Happy Hunter's horse, and we also have a Rice with no partition. Wish I'd never travelled her with partition in the 1st place because I think if I hadn't I wouldnt be having the issues now, she used to scramble terribly, so we're trying to show her that it's not so bad now. We've had one successful journey so far.

I'm in Swindon, I think it's a bit far for her at the moment to come to Witney, which is a shame. Also, I am anxious about making it in to a big "thing" with her, if we took her to an event where she just loaded on to a trailer for a period of time and then came home I think she'd create merry heck about it.

My lad used to be a total toad to load into a trailer; but on Saturday we got top marks in horse agility for the trailer walk-through!!!

The secret is to do groundwork, groundwork and more groundwork, and get the horse following you and going where you go WITHOUT QUESTION.

Then, wherever you ask him to go, he'll follow. Plus don't look back at the horse as you're walking up the ramp, just walk up and expect him to follow.

Captain loads himself, takes himself into a wagon and loves to nose out of the window. Never tried loading him into a trailer. Fany will load into a wagon, also never tried a trailer.

Your course sounds good and I think a lot of people would have a use for your it.

Yes, my horse will load but will she travel?? Hell no!!!!!!! Poor girl fears for her life as soon as you try to close the ramp. We tried fixing this problem over 2 years using various trailers available and a horsebox but it was very difficult watching her becoming so stressed that we gave up trying :(

If I so much as put bandages/travel boots on her, she sweats up and poos for England. I often wonder what had happened to her for her to become so terrified.

I thought ours might be better in a wagon, so we tried her in a couple of different ones belonging to friends. She was no better to load but travelled a lot better (no scrambling)
We've taken the partition out of the trailer for her and the one time we've tried her with it she was quiet as a lamb, no scrambling, but still takes an age to load. It's tiring.

In answer to your post mine loads brilliantly but good luck to finding people! Mabye post title should have been difficult loader? Or something like that ;). Never used IH in my life does it stand for intelligent horsemanship (is that like natural horsemanship)? :)
