Does your horse.......

I keep my horses at home and between mum & I we keep them very much spoilt. Routine Mon-Fri is feeding & mucking out at 6am and then rode before work if they arent at anything that evening, so theres no routine. Sometimes i stay away from home and left for my mum to do & says that my horse licks her bowel clean at breakfast time when im away, but when im there she refuses to eat, which was very much evident this morning.
Mum says she swears its anticipation of getting out (my horses loves her job)& will stand and look over the door even when she can see the others tucking in. Does anyone elses' horses do this or do they enjoy there brekkie too much?

I used to have a horse whom I had to turn out and feed in the field, as he was so excited about going out in the morning.

Could you not work her before breakfast, so she knows once she's being fed she can relax and eat?

depending on how much time i have i ride/ lunge before feeding and while he's eating as he takes forever i muck him out lol

As i have to hack to either exercise or get to the school it doesnt get light to just before 8am, so she has 2 hours to ponder whether to eat or if i am going to take her out
