Ooh, I was just wondering how you were getting on with selling him. I think I have my answer now. I hope that someone else comes along soon. He is a lovely looking boy.
Don't get disheartened- we had SO many people cancel on us because they found something more local etc., but eventually we had about 4 people who all wanted to buy him at the same time! just give it time
He sounded perfect as well! typical isnt it... i didnt have my hopes up but thought that it was promising, the waste of time emails are a joke also! stupid questions like "do you use the martingale because he is strong?"
I have had SEVEN people so far call! and the emails i am getting seem to be coming from 13 year old school girls who have no chance of having their own horse!
Im genuinely not selling him because of anything he has done, infact he is a different horse now to when he was just a few months ago, its personal but very much MY fault
I think your advert is quite good, you seem honest enough, the only thing that might put me off from ringing is the ' needs a firm but fair competent rider'. I dont think you have him over priced either really....its just that selling really can take a while.
I sold my old mare about 4 months ago, and i had a complete nightmare. She was quite forward going and whilst not a nutcase, she wasnt for a novice. I had one kid turn up who was a complete beginner, even after i had talked to the mum the phone for ages about what she is like. Before i could get him off he had ridden her *into* the side of the menage and fell off... the horse looked like she'd been attacked by a tiger, but luckily wasnt hurt.
I totally understand how horrible it is selling, i had SO many idiots ringing up and sending text messages i almost lost all my hair!! You just have to keep the faith - there is someone out there suitable for your ponio, you just have to find them. Good luck! x
If it makes you feel any better I'm trying to find someone to loan mine and it's a nightmare! I haven't been happy with anyone so far, and people who come aren't actually what they said they were
Hope you find someone soon, it's a pain. How long has he been for sale?
he's for sale through NO fault of his own....just mine!
and he's only been up for about 4 days but last year when he was up for sale the phone was non stop!! literlly I couldnt put the phone down with out some one ringing!
I dunno, i think the last one of him jumping isnt that great, the picture is blurry and quite far away, i thought the other sj picture was better. I like the other two though!!
FAT FAT FAT??? he was big boned for about a month!! ha! I do see your point, and he bloody moves well !! I might take camera up this weekend and pop him over some fences to get a nice jumping one of us
I priced him as that as others his age and experience were going for the same amount and he is going with alot of tack just minus the saddle really. I need some money left over for the next one
I dont think he is over priced Flintus, the ad. looks great, and shows he can turn his hoof to pretty much anything. I think its good you have stated what sort of rider he would suit, as it saves people wasting your time..
The only thing I noticed about the ad, is at the end it makes you sound a little desperate to get shot of him?
but sale is essential............ PLEASE email for futher details and pictures. Will include part wardrobe. £4000 ONO but home priority over price
You may find people are reading too much into it and think somethings not as it seems? just a thought!
We have several for sale and it always seems that there are no buyers out there and then suddenly you will have loads of people fighting over him!
Have you found another horse yet?
You could put him on my web site too if you want? Not got many for sale on there at the moment but we have a lot of visitors to it? PM me if you think that may be an idea?!
I spoke to a guy recently who takes horses for sale prep, he says the market is very slow at the moment. Maybe when (if) the weather picks up....
I like him a lot, good luck
Well I think he looks gorgeous and certainly not fat.
The advert is well written and above all very honest. I think telling people straight away he is not for a novice and needs a firm but fair competent rider should mean that only suitable people should be really interested in him.
Being honest and upfront like that is the best attitude to have in life and I think people will respect your honesty.
I absolutely love the pic of him standing near the stable. He has looks to die for in my honest opinion.
I'm sure the right person for him will come along soon even if it takes a little while it will be worth it in the end knowing you have found him the right home.
Good luck
