Doesn't experiance mean knowledge? *stupid rant, sorry*

The woman who I keep Tont with has been around horses for over 50 years, even running 3 riding schools, but sometimes I just wonder.

She has an overweight cob and two fat 3 year olds, all in no work whatsoever in a field with lots of grass. The cob was borderline laminitis a few weeks ago, so what does she feed them? A scoop of calm and condition each!!

Down the bottom of the field is a caravan which we store things in, including a jar of mints. Every day her two geldings come and stand by the caravan, so she gives them a constant supply of treats each, so the horses have turned into bargey, biting monsters. So now she's wondering why they are kicking the caravan, turfing the ground up outside and barging into her (and me!) everytime she steps outside of the caravan.

I always thought experience meant knowledge

Sorry for the rant, it's just really frustrating me :(

Nicole :)

I would be very surprised that the quality of grass at this time of year would be a problem..unless we encounter some frosts..but, feeding CnC to already porky ponies would be of a concern..although it doesn't contain any barley

Does she feed the pony in your Siggy as well?

He could do with losing a few LBS ;)

I don't get it either, the guy i used to ride for has had horses for about the same length of time, but he fed his a full bucket of feed, and when his shetties got lami, he still turned them out in the spring :O :O
He was with my horse when he had his passport done, and when i looked at it, the breed was unknown, but we knew he was tb, and he'd put him down as 18h, when he was soo clearly not, and he's been trimming his own horses feet :O:O

I know, she says it'll do them good to have C&C as the winter is coming

No, my *ahem* chunky cob is on a cup and a half of baileys lo-cal and the weight just isn't shifting
