When you look at an advert for a horse and its POA?? I'm not actively looking for a horse, but its nice to browse, you never know what might be out there. I just cant understand why not put the price on it will save a lot of hassle and time wasting. I've just seen an ad for what looks like what is my ideal horse, and out of curiosty rang to see how much he was. He was up for 6.5k and she was put out when i said it was out of my budget. Yes ok im not a serious buyer as yet, but if i was he would have been out of my budget. So is it really that difficult to say, wouldnt it be easier for people to know whether its even worth enquiring? or am i just being picky??

Yes, its stupid. many people will phone to ask the price and find they can't afford it and many people who can afford it won't bother phoning because either they'll assume if its POA they can't afford it, or because they don't like people not being upfront about things.

Normally if the ad says POA, it's for expensive competition horses ie a lot more than 6.5k. Wonder why she didn't want to advertise the price?

I just put it down to people being strange....

Thats what i thought, he has apparently seen competion, ode etc, but never stated if he was placed or any winnings. I could understand if he had won loads and was worth 15k or something...

POA basically just puts me off calling as I would assume the horse is out of my price range and wouldn't want the embarassment

I am the same. I don't ring up about ones that say POA. The only time I did, the price was too high for me and the owner sounded ticked off when I said that. Now if she had put the price in the ad, then I (and numerous others no doubt) wouldn't have wasted her time by ringing to find out the price!

My best friends MiL has two for sale on H&H at the moment - both POA - which is annoying as I'd love to know what she wants for them

I had one the other way around..I saw a horse in H&H that looked perfect...in my budget too.

I rang and made arrangements to see the horse and poss put a deposit down...when just as this had been arranged the woman piped up that did I realise that the price had been advertised wrongly and a zero was missing from the advertised price....well I cancelled everthing there and then as the horse went from £1200 to £12,000 in the blink of an eye...silly cow...

Agree, I never call any advert thats POA. Just think its highly unlikely that I will be able to afford it lol. Silly of them though, it must rule out a lot of potential purchasers

There seems to be an increase of people putting POA on their ads, I never respond to them as I feel there is no need to hide the price. If selling a horse you should know what you want for it so put the price on the ad - it saves everyone a load of hassle (also the people who put POA tend to be the ones that complain about time wasters).

I agree with ParkRanger its down to people thinking their horses are a little bit more special than they actually are!

But PoA ads come up in any search on H&H regardless of the price you put in. I wonder if this is why people do it???

They irritate me though, you put in your criteria and see something amazing, get excited then it says PoA - grrr

I just don't enquire about POA's as it normally means they are stupidly expensive.

Yeah i dont normally ring either but was curious as he was the right height, age, colour and has apparently done what i'm looking for. All i said was, could you please tell me how much he is? Didnt ask about anything else and she went oh he's only 6.5k, i went oh he's out of my budget and you could hear her huff as if to say 'time waster'. Well put the price on you wont all these calls then... muppet
