My mare, be it leading or in a bridle, doesnt like pressure on her nose and will shake her head.

she had her teeth done twice last year and she is booked in again for feb this year to have them done again altho the dentist was pretty happy with her teeth last time. (she was done twice as the first girl who did her i wasn't happy with as she wasn't a qualified dentist and horse still was snatching bridle so i got a EDT out after)

she doesnt appear to have any problem in her back and has a personalised fitted saddle, she is quite happy to be ridden with no objections... but will snatch the bridle if i ask for to go down a transition etc.

any other ideas from you guys?? im pretty sure the problem is in her nose as she only does it when i pull back on leadrope in head collar or down ward transitions ...

Can you ride her without a noseband and see if that makes any difference?
That way it will either confirm or dispel your suspicions.

My mare is exactly the same; there's nothing wrong physically, she just has dislike of nose pressure. She works well in a loose fitting cavesson but a tight noseband or flash/grackle cause resistance.
