my daughter is wanting to start competing with our collie and I wondered if anyone on here does agility and has any info on competitions ??? we are in scotland
I compete, although not in Scotland. The best place to look is www.agilitynet.com there's a list of shows and schedules.
Be prepared for early mornings, show's usually start at 8:30am and you'll need to be there early enough to park, go to the toilet (and let the dog), plus find your ring and walk your course.
To compete at KC shows your dog MUST be KC registered and be measured by one of the official measurers - info on that can be found on the KC website.
If you were just looking for local unaff. shows then your training club would be the best place to start.
Was there anything specific that you wanted to know?
thanks for the reply, we don't know anything about dog agility. for local events you don't need to be registered then? why would the dog need to be measured, I thought collies all competed together or have I got that wrong ? do juniors have their own class ?

Sorry didn't realise
You'll want to look on the agilitynet website and find a local club - they have an A-Z list, if you can't find one on there join the forum (link is on agilitynet) and ask on there. It's full of helpful people
Just re-thinking, you need to be KC registered unless it's NOT a KC show - sorry I didn't word it very well in the first post! Dogs need to be measured because the classes are run by height, not just level. So you have mini dogs, up to 35cm, medium dogs, over 35cms-43cms and large dogs, 43cms+
Some Collies measure in medium some in large. This is a link to the KC page for agility - should help
