Not a happy post sorry guys. A couple of months ago my dog was attacked in my local park by a Lab, it was reported but the owner disappeared of the face of the earth, lucky Buster was relatively unharmed baring a few stitches and needing some TLC, said owner is now back and last week a lovely dog called Smoo was attacked, rather violently which resulted in him needing around 20 stitches and left visably shaken when I saw him yesterday.

The twist is the owner of the dog who attacked mine and Smoo is refusing to give his details, including his name, address and insurance details.. it's left alot of dog walkers in my local area absoutley livid, and we are all avoiding the owner at all costs.

I can't believe someone could do such a thing!

I'm in North London area, if any of you want details of the park/area PM me

This owner has a duty to control their dog and deal with any out of control behaviour.
Rather than avoid them, they need confronting (without a dog present). Easy for me to say I know, but is there a local warden or park keeper that could be made aware of this person and they be held accountable?

Hoping Smoo recovers quickly and it hasn't made yours too wary of other dogs in future :)

the RSPCA and local police have been made aware and we have seen some wardens/PCSOs in the area but obviously this man isn't going to go in the park when there around.

Argh. irresponsible people really nark me

Irresponsible owners at their best! Glad that your dog and the other are ok. Sadly, that dog may meet its match one day and come off worse, obviously an owner who doesn't care at all about other dogs or his own!!

Why I hate going to parks! Or should I say, why I hate numpties spoiling things for everyone else, hope this owner gets his and his dog goes to a better home who are willing to address his issues before it is too late :(

Hope Smoo recovers.

Can you take it up with a local councillor? Or just ring the council and ask for their advice?

Do you have any sort of community online forum where you could warn people about him/exchange information with other dog owners?

Personally, I'd follow him home and post a muzzle through his letterbox.

No online community to my knowledge but shall certainly look into it.

I hate it when people like him spoil it for others, I look watching Buster run around with the other dogs - he looks so happy, but obviously even the owners I know are being extra cautious at the moment, so it's making for lonely walkies for him.

Hopefully they'll catch him soon

This is definitely something a dog warden should be following up I would have thought. If you haven't done already I would try contacting the dog warden direct (through the council). Do you have a local paper who would run a story about these attacks, someone must know who this person is, perhaps a description of the dog in the paper would get the attention of a neighbour of his or something.
