dog barking when out?

I have a collie bitch, who ever since she was a pup will sometimes decide to have a bark if we are out, this results in the other dogs joining in and unhappy neighbours! They are never left alone for long (max of a morning) and its not consistent that she has these barking fits. We have tried spray collars and muzzles, all of which work until she manages to get them off and chew them. Anyone have any ideas? She is walked, goes agility, obedience and flyball, but has always been a bit of a princess! I wondered about having her spayed? Would that help? She is dominant over the others.
 
If you are talking about the Pet Corrector spray hunteress it wouldn't work in this case as the dog barks when the OP isn't there, I do agree they are good though. OP as suggested by CC crating might be a solution, also have you tried leaving a radio on so there is a background noise.
 
Sorry thought I had replied, she is crated and the radio is on. Would spaying her be likely to reduce this behavior?
 
Is the barking in the crate then? Could you put the crate in a different room to the others in case they are winding her up, or cover it, or use an airline crate so it is a bit darker/more secure?

The only thing spaying does for sure is to stop the dog reproducing.
It *can* have knock on benefits in some behaviours but I don't see how it would stop her barking.
 
Does she get enough exercise before being left? One of my collies will bark at night if not given a late walk.

I would try walking for double time before leaving and see if that works.
