Our Lurcher Meg usually has a cast iron stomach. Rarely scavenges as is mostly lead walked due to poor recall. She’s fed nutriment raw food. I also give her treats but have drastically reduced what she has since the mystery illness last month that made her very ill.
Yesterday after her walk she threw up around 11am. And the day before entire contexts of her stomach around 2pm. Still asking for food although I’ve cut it down to just sweet potato and I’ve bought some cod fillets to cook for her. Any ideas what would cause these random vomits?

A few of the 7 bitches I've owned have actually had a habit of vomiting, and/or getting upset stomachs 2 times per year, and the first time usually happened about this time of the year. I eventually figured out that it happened every time they decided that it was time to shift from Winter to Summer coat, and then again when it was time to shift from Summer back to Winter coat. But those who did that, basically did it their whole lives, so if that was causing Meg's vomiting she would've done it also the years before. It's probably just that it's this time of the year which makes me think of it.

Considering that she had a mystery illness a month ago, and that she now have vomited two days in a row without having eaten anything she shouldn't have, I would consider a vet visit in your shoes. Oh if only they could talk, and one could ask them for more details.

She isnt fond of rice so research I have done has recommended sweet potato as a good option in light of rice being no good. I will call vets if there’s anything weird today. She’s slept all night and done normal if small poops.

As FL, in view of the recent mystery illness, I would take her to the vet today. I keep white fish/chicken in the freezer to use in case of canine stomach upset. I wouldn't consider sweet potato to be a light diet tbh.
I always keep some white fish in the freezer too and give it with potato. Old dog had frequent bouts of colitis and would not eat rice and didn’t do too well on chicken so vet recommended white fish and potato instead.

Turkey or white fish and sweet potato is the prefered option over chicken and rice, easier to digest, better fibre and less allergenic protein source. Most diarrhoea in dogs is fibre responsive

Post #11 above was posted by my mobile in my pocket. After posting that Quote, it decided to continue on to try phoning up my vet clinic which is definitely closed at this time of the day.

I only noticed what my phone was up to when I heard a dialing tone from my pocket! 😳 😳

Anyhow, pity to hear that rice isn't the first thing recommended for upset dog stomachs anymore, it's so easy to always just have a packet of rice at home just in case. Besides, my local food store doesn't even sell sweet potatoes all the year around.
