I wont go into details as it wasn't my pony, but a friend was in the woods with her pony today and it was attacked by a dog. The vet advised to call the police and the dog owner willingly gave all of their details over to the pony owner.

What is the law on this with regards to the dog and its owner?

Just curious.

Thanks

The owner can be prosecuted as being the owner of a dog dangerously out of control in a public place. Our dog was bitten by another dog that wasn't in a lead and this is what they were prosecuted with. They received a £250 fine and costs.
