I am collecting a Miniature Pinscher from Heathrow airport Wednesday with my friend. Its her dog and is coming in from Dubai.
I have promised her a late Christmas present - a new coat for her dog Daisy. As she is coming from such a hot country I imagine she will feel the cold more than most.
My dogs have never had coats (Bearded collie!) so I'm looking on Amazon as I know it will arrive in time but there's hundreds to choose from!!
I don't really want to spend more than £20 and have seen a Masta coat and a 2 in 1 Danish design or other recommendations welcome... thanks in advance !
Oh and I think she is 12" so would that be 'small' ?

The masta delux coats are good as they cover some of the belly too. Cooltex rugs are smart and warm too.
My dog has more coats than me and I tend to order from viovet.

Ps the coats are measured from collar to tale and the ones measured in inches and cms are easier to get the right size if you don't have the dog there to fit

Thank you! I will check those out in the morning as I need to get something ordered asap for it to arrive in time. I did think that maybe some of the coats didn't cover enough of the belly so thats a plus.
I'm sure she will acclimatise quickly but it's so hot out there and so bloody awful here, poor little mite!

If you decide to wait until Daisy gets here, have you thought of making her a temporary coat?

I used the sleeves from an old jumper (a sweatshirt works just as well) for my puppy (I'm too mean to buy him a coat he's gonna grow out of 5 minutes after he's had it ;) ). You just cut them off the jumper, cut off the cuffs and slip that end over her head. Make a little mark where her legs, tummy and base of tail are, then slip the sleeve back off and cut it to fit. You'll probably only need a little snip for the arm/front leg holes as the knit of the jumper unravels enough to fit little mini-pin legs through.

The whole thing takes about 10-15 mins, needs no sewing or accurate measuring and is either free or just the cost of a jumper from a charity shop.

I think we need photos of her and your masterpiece if you make her a temporary coat ;) :)

Thanks Everyone. Equafleece sounds and looks great. I also had someone pm me recommending them.

I LOVE this idea and have some great mini fleeces that my young daughter has grown out of :D Yes photos would be compulsory of course ;)

If you were close to me, I'd be happy to give you a pile of jackets/jumpers that I had for my Minpins. I brought two over from the US many years ago, and they had a great wardrobe. I lost my last girl a few years ago now, at age 17 - she loved her jumpers!

Bought my 2 terriers the equafleece dog jumper, absolutely brilliant! Even when one of them went swimming in the sea at Xmas he was clean and dry underneath. BUT you do need to take dogs measurements so the rug fits properly. My OH was ver sceptical about them but now is a complete convert.
I know they are a little more expensive but I highly recommend Equafleece coats
http://www.equafleece.co.uk/store/dogs.html or Hotterdog from Amazon

If you still have them I would be happy to pay postage and some extra for a Minpin 'wardrobe'! Love the name Minpin :D

I think I will go for the Equafleece but am just waiting for my friend to confirm that is what she wants.
