I really want to get my big rufty tufty rottie a waterproof coat. My OH thinks she will look all girlie and soft if I do and really doesn't want me to buy her one.
The thing is,she is nearly 8 and starting to slow down a bit now. When it is tipping it down with rain her coat seems to absorb all the rain. I rub her down with a towel but she still manages to soak my walls when she has a shake.
My walls end up like the ones in the advert with the very muddy mutt.
So does anyone have any recommendations as I have never bought a dog coat before
Oh also do I measure her up like you would a horse.
My beastie thanks you My OH wont!

but as for measurements ...

Measurements:
Back (from collar to base of tail)
Depth (from centre of back to required depth)overall coat length (from chest to base of tail)

Hope that gives you a bit of an idea

My Dobie, who is a complete wuss about cold or wet conditions has a Weatherbeeta coat, warm and waterproof, and she absolutely LOVES it!

My Dobie and Collie also have fleece suits to help them dry off quicker when they come in looking like bog monsters - probably sounds OTT, but it saves them plastering the walls and carpets with disgusting wetness, or having to leave them in the utility for hours.

Usually you have to measure around the neck, and collar to base of tail, but most manufacturers/stockists will give a diagram of the measurements you need.

My big hairy collie loves his and so does my mum as it keeps him considerably cleaner! lol

My 12 1/2 year old spaniel also refuses to leave the house without his rug on in the winter too!
