Can I have some recommendations please on dog coats?! I've just had to bin my trusty high visibility police type jacket and cant find one that looks alright!

She's a lab but she's old and on cold days like today its nice for her to wear a coat or when its raining and cold. It cant be too thick as she has larengeal paralysis so have to make sure she doesn't overheat but too think and it will get ripped in all the bushes she dives through!

Nightmare!! I have a terrier, he measures roughly 15cm along his back. He has 2 very old hotterdog fleece rugs that fit and an amigo fleece rug, plus a quite thick fleece rug (a bit too small,) that I got off ebay donkeys years ago, and a couple of old weatherbeeta (again a bit small) waterproofs. None of these are very waterproof any longer so I invested in a couple of Rambo rugs from a tackshop on Ebay. They are just what I wanted, 100g fill and waterproof. Only problem, I thought they were S size but they are S/M. I have a green and a fluorescent yellow? The yellow seems slightly larger and I have put that on marketplace. I have taken the green one in around the neck and weirdly, when combined with a harness, it doesn't move albeit slightly too large. He tears around in it, rolls, scrapes it against walls in town and yesterday, as it was so cold and he is rather old, I put it on over à fleece rug as rain looked imminent also.

Anyway, I just think its hard to get something very fit for purpose in pet shops. I have not ever found anything waterproof and tough.

Equafleece are fab and they do high viz colours. I had the jumper style for our old heeler and then moved on to the rug type when his legs became a bit arthritic. He had high viz orange and you could see him for miles. Sadly he is no longer with us and the coats are too small for Z who is chunkier .

Waterproof with a removable fleece lining. Not overly expensive either.

We have these. I have had to add buttons to the velcro belly strap when they get older.

Dexter has a couple of coats, one he wears most is his Hi Viz, padded from Weatherbeeta.

I use these, they’re brilliant and everything you describe!

I have Weatherbeeta for all my dogs the rugs have lasted for years and are still waterproof.

Ive just bought a thermal quilted coat from Gingerted and am very impressed with it, they also do waterproofs.

Im just worried ill see one that suits and it will be too warm for her, I need something waterproof, and that ideally covers the belly, the Danish design ones look good actually!
