I got two 42" crates between the three dogs, Polo and Charlie only using one for travelling, hence sharing one, and Lola has one of her own for when I take her into the house and travelling! 42" is massive for them (much bigger than I thought as I got them off Amazon). Free in each came a lovely little fitted mat (which will most likely be shredded), and they came to about £50 each!
Basically a pointless post but I'm just so proud that Lola is now sitting in her crate in the middle of the living room right now, it's like her castle and she loves it (today's the fist time she's been in it!). I just led her in one door with the command 'Crate', a quick sit and lots of praise before leading her out the other door! About 5 times and she was happy to walk in herself as soon as I said crate! I took the pigeon's rope toy out of his cage (for some reason he likes dog toys lol) and the bird smell from that just completed it for Lola!
