I went to see my brother today. He has 1 well behaved and CLEAN little JR.

I, on the other hand, with 4 active staffords, feel like a current female version of Canute trying to hold back the tide.. of mud.

Bobby (JR) is white, clean, and little.... anyone else struggling with the mud?!

I feel your pain. We have 1 small terrier who is easy to lift over muddy gateways and can just be popped in the sink. And 1 enormous clumsy Newfoundland with a long thick coat and full feathering on all legs, he attracts mud and water like a magnet and transfers it to the house. Blaster is on my Xmas list and cannot come a day too soon!

You want whippets! They can be caked in filth but as soon as they dry out it just drops off with no trace to be seen. We live less than 10mins walk from a big park, by the time they get home they are dry, clean and shiny. It still surprises me sometimes! They are RAW fed and very sleek and shiny, but its either some sort of black magic or they are teflon coated

My little schnauzer can go through seed plants ,come out covered and in a shake they drop off.if she gets wet she can be dried in five mins .muds brushes off.....my standard poodle boy?dont even go there...:(

We have a daily struggle with mud, not helped by the type of coat she has (Bichon). I've given up worring about it. She has her belly showered off after coming home, or a full bath if really bad. I had to dunk her in our pond the other day before showering her because she was caked in thick estuary mud. She wasn't impressed.

You must be joking. My staffy won't even go out the door without a firm push. God forbid she had to leave her pillow and fire lol

My jrt is worse, his belly gets filthy. He gets a good towelling down before he's allowed in and then goes in the conservatory to clean himself up. The staffy X keeps himself so clean. His white bits are always white. And he hates the rain and steers clear of muddy puddles lol. My dobie is the worse. She lays down in any puddle she comes across. And rolls in mud like a horse.

Oh this made me giggle. Imagining a tiny, cute little dog being dunked in a pond. Poor little girl.

My mini JRT is small enough to be lifted and towelled clean before she comes into the house. She then has a bed in the utility room beside the radiator where she can dry off before coming into the rest of the house. She still loves a swim though even at this time of year, which cleans her off wonderfully, but makes her sooo cold :(

Then she has her fleece jumper put on which does NOT make her happy

As I was doing my daily hoover the mud and washing all the downstairs floors first thing this morning... I did keep saying to myself ... you are not alone with this..

Changed some of my walks as they are just too muddy and it takes the best part of 40 minutes to clean 4 dogs...

I feel your pain, although I only have one dog so it's not quite such a marathon! I think show cockers have accidentally been bred to have sponges for coats. He absorbs every bit of mud and wet going and then redistributes it all around the house.

The little hairy cairn would rather trot through the muddiest puddles than go around via the slightly longer damp grass. She & the cold hose pipe have become well acquainted over the last month. On the other paw, my small lurcher will wait beside the mud for someone to lift her over, she couldn't possibly muddy her little feet, even if her legs are like stilts & her belly is no where near mud level.
