Dog flea treatment killing birds

We don’t use tick, worm or flea stuff from the vet unless alternatives don’t work / there’s a good cause (and to be honest that hasn’t arisen in all our dog owning years but I’m saying I’m not 100% opposed).

I knew they were bad for fish etc but this is new to me - they kill baby birds too

And yet commercial weedkiller is available for crop spraying, containing the same toxic cocktail. Matt Baker did an interview with somebody around the subject of spraying sugar beet, and was firmly told it was necessary. Sad.

Very sad. It annoys me that vets so actively encourage people to pay for plans where they dose their animals on a regular basis, irrespective of whether they actually have any parasites.

I have not used flea treatment in about 10 years.

Quite scary to think of the amount of poison I would have put on my animals for no reason whatsoever, had I followed the usual veterinary guidance.
