Hi guys,

Does anyone have a suggestion for dog food makes without the following as I am struggling to find any.

No fish or fish oil

No grain

No seaweed

Spaniel has allergies, gluten and wheat, storage mites and most grasses and trees etc. So basically life ?

She also has a very running bottom on beef and pork and if I remember turkey.

Currently we make her food ourselves, chicken with fresh veg made up. In batches and then frozen

We also make her kibble with gluten free flour.

Mum has just been diagnosed with RA and is currently suffering from flare ups while we get it under control.
I have inflammatory arthritis and have had new tablets as mine has decided to go nuts ? so I am looking at ways of making things easier.

Baby collie is on Royal canin hypoallergenic food as she is having problems with her tummy and this is the most non invasive thing we can try before she starts having tests and as she is slightly people worried / reactive the vet wanted to try that first for her. But it's also blooming expensive which is a pain as it looks like it's working ??‍♀️


So wise hho can you suggest a wet feed to look at that doesn't have the above in for the special spaniel.

Also asa side note we cannot do raw because of my self and now mum with comprised immune systems.
 
Have you looked at Forthglade? They do a range called just, No fish oils etc and you could balance this with something like CA37 to add vits and mins - or just add veg, natures menu do a meat free complimentary veggie boost nugget. Or surprisingly Butchers Tripe mix is grain free...
 
Our vet had a very allergic GSD which she had on hydrolysed food for a while, which apparently has the ingredients so broken down that the body can't react to them. It's expensive but it gave his body a rest from reacting, I think she found a more normal food once he was less sensitive.

Thank you very much just had a loon and it's looks just about what I'm after ☺️
 
Have you tried the spaniel on the hypoallergenic?
Otherwise I think you just need to head to your local feedstore and get hunting with a list of 'must nots' - if you're clever you could ring before and ask the customer assistants to find you one without the ingredients you need. Sounds like a chicken and rice brand? what about burns

And shockingly low in actual meat.

I'd go for Forthglade too. I believe they also make Wainwright trays for Pets at Home who offer a grain free option.

Burns, to my recollection, is renowned for dropping weight, not sure that's what you need!

I've done this before and they all stocked stuff that had fish and fish oil etc in.

Burns is a no for them as again makes them have runny poops and doenst settle.

Have had them on the grain free wainwrights when spaniel was first diagnosed. She was till itchy all over the place etc and wasn't settling with her skin.

At the moment we are on the six week trial for the collie. It seems to be working and she has been on home cooked chicken and veg food as commercial food just went straight through her all the time rather than having patches of brown water / mush type of poop every six weeks ish.

She has actually had near enough perfect poops on the vet stuff which surprised me as I know how little meat it has and I am not a fan but will need to maybe change how I see it if she continues to improve.
 
InsectDog Sensitive kibble might work for both dogs - available on Zooplus. The Rocco Hypoallergenic wet food from Zooplus fits the bill also.
 
True instinct- which is dry raw? Seems to do well for my spanner though she has it in addition to the farmers dog raw chubs.
