Hi all

Bit of a long shot but has anyone in the Overpool area lost a dog as we appear to have acquired a lodger for the night. Either this lovely girl has escaped and run off or has been dumped. She appears to be some sort of staffy cross (although that's a guess) and doesn't look to be too old. She's very used to people and was wearing a collar but no tag (She will be having a trip to the vet tomorrow to see if she's chipped).

She was found sat in the middle of a grassy roundabout in the middle of a new build housing estate. She was sat there when my dad took our two out for a walk and was still there about an hour and a half later. People in the surrounding apartments asked my dad if he knew anything so he brought our two home then went back for it. I then spent the next hour or so knocking on doors around the estate but had no luck.

We have phoned the local police station to register a found dog and will phone the dog warden tomorrow (but will ask if she can stay here in the seven(?) day period before they will look to rehome her).

Anyone with any information/questions, please PM me. I have a photo on my phone which I can transfer to my laptop but haven't got a photobucket account and I'm supposed to be doing work so not got time to register. Happy to email pics though!

Thank you! She is absolutely gorgeous and so friendly so I really hope she's not been dumped- don't know how anyone could do it. She didn't seem nervous at all and looks to have been (a bit too) well fed! It's also odd that she had a collar on her.

No question of leaving her there- all but one of ours have been similar stories (wandering round Asda carpark, tied to a gate on a golf course on boxing day etc etc).

She's really sweet- we had a bit of a play before :D Then made an extra big fuss of our dogs! Oh god, I'm becoming attached already!!:p

Happy ending (ish)!

The dog's owner knocked at our door about ten mins ago whilst my dad had taken it out for a walk before it was due to go to the vet to be checked for a chip. It was definitely her dog- she had pictures of her on her phone.

The poor dear....... the stress of losing a dog had turned her to drink!!!!! Due to personal issues she didn't realise the dog was missing until this morning and she didn't have a lead with her. But the dog seemed well cared for and was certainly happy to see her so I can't judge too much!! ;)

Well I'm glad she's been claimed but how on earth could she not realise her dog had gone all night!!? If I don't see mine for 5 minutes I'm calling them and my whole place is completely dog proofed.

I blame the special brew

She did seem a bit odd but it didn't seem to have affected the dog's wellbeing (apart from it being sat on the roundabout ) She did say she had phoned the local police station though which is odd as I'm sure we would have had a call as well rang them last night to report a found dog and gave a VERY thorough description!

Oh well, all's well that ends well (except a TINY part of me was hoping she would remain homeless and could therefore come and live with me & OH when we finally manage to move into our house )
