Hello!

So, my question today is - Can anyone recommend any camping/cabin sites that will allow dogs? Preferably a lot of dogs. I have recently joined the Tamaskan committee and I'm trying to get a holiday together, however most places I contact allow just a couple of dogs, some only allow 1.

My main problem is there will be more dogs than people, I'm hoping for a group of about 10, with some people having 2 and I think 3 of them having 3 dogs each!

We're pretty willing to go any where in England or Wales, maybe even Scotland if we have no other choice, although I know a lot of us wouldn't fancy that drive.

Thanks in advance!

Celtic Camping 4 miles from St David's in Pembrokeshire. Amazing walking nearby as it's right on the coastal path, good facilities. I go every year for a music festival. Couldn't ask for a more beautiful part of the world.

I doubt any camping sites will want that many (loud) dogs and people- you'd be best finding a field to rent maybe contact a campsite thats on a farm and see if they can recommend anything?

Worth contacting Celtic Camping if people don't mind driving that far - if they allow music festivals (with dogs in attendance) chances are they might allow the sort of thing you're planning!
But it is far, far away from pretty much everywhere. That's why I like it!

They're not loud :) In fact, most don't even bark! They woo woo instead, so cute!

We did think about a field and are looking around for that sort of thing too! :)

Thanks Ponyparty! I'll email now :D

Hi we went to celtic camping last summer with our dog , it's beautiful lovely walks & very relaxed site but be warned it can get very very windy they had a skip full of damaged tents ! Lol quite the holiday ... unfortunately we had to move sites before we were blown away , it is lovely just be mindful of the weather.

Erm... Wind can happen anywhere, to be fair! I was also there last summer (early June) and it was horrifically windy, but that's the first time in 6 years of going there at that time of year that it's been like that. It was horrendous trying to put up our tent in the wind, I very nearly threw my toys out the pram and went home haha! Glad I didn't though coz had an amazing weekend. But usually the weather is perfect whenever I go :)

I found out something this week which has absolutely sickened me... I then remembered I had posted on here advising people to go to Celtic Camping. I retract that statement now :(

I was there at a festival at the start of June, and saw a horsebox there at one point. Thought nothing of it, thought maybe someone was using it to sleep in rather than pitching a tent!

Turns out it was the RSPCA rescuing 5 ponies whose hooves were extremely overgrown. Article link below. Devastated, I've been going there for years and the ponies always seemed well looked after. We used to camp right by their field but this year picked a different site and I didn't even go to see them... Feel wracked with guilt now, even though someone else clearly saw them and reported it, and they were rescued almost immediately. Apparently they were taken straight to see a farrier, but I have no further update on their condition after this. I am trying to find out their fate.

So yeah, I won't be going to Celtic Camping again, there's no excuse in my eyes. This wasn't "a mistake" as the farmer says, this was months of neglect. I'm absolutely gutted.
