im with halifax...claimed 4-5 times..paid up really quickly to vets...£50 excess,£6000 vet fee per year...think its best to job around ,some are better than others...some people put money in a account for their dogs

My Yorkie is with Petplan on the higher rate that covers him for life for any ailment.

My Springer Spaniel who I have had for 4 years longer is insured with More Than. We have had to claim big time for her because she had a horrific eye injury and some miraculous surgery to save it, but it will always be an issue for her. More Than do provide cover for life, but I have found to my cost that the excess is chargeable for each policy year, not each injury/illness. Therefore whereas you might expect to pay the excess and then be able to claim for the rest of the dog's life, you will pay the excess again for each year of cover, the excess being £70 - possibly around £700 if my dog lives 10 years from her injury, and maybe my yearly bill would be no more than the excess, in which case the insurance isn't much help.

So I would probably recommend Petplan rather than More Than. At least, I have claimed with Petplan for my horse and it has always gone smoothly.

Hi I am with direct line have just had to have second major operation on my 16 months old Northern inuit who has had a dislocation knee cap from age 4 months , they have paid out straight away no problems and so far the bill is at £4,000 and rising. Luckily took out the advanced plan so is insured up to £6,000 for each condition.

Tesco pet insurance. We had a puppy with lots of problems and he had loads of ops and they paid out no probs at all....
You can do it all online too.....
