Hiya, just a quick question, do you have your dog insured, and if so, who with and how do you find them? (Am I allowed to ask that?)
Who would you say the best insurers are?
Sorry for all the questions, we stupidly haven't sorted out any insurance for Jet yet, and we have found he has a problem with his pancreas which could prove expensive to treat.
He is fine, he's just not digesting things properly because enzymes aren't being produced properly, so he isn't really putting on any more weight.
Thanks guys

Petplan have been brilliant - Boo snapped his cruciate ligament on his right hind leg only to snap the left one 8 weeks later! If we hadn't of had insurance I don't know what we would have done - apart from fork out loads of dosh that we didn't have! Nothing about vets is cheap.

Pet plan are good as they pay out for life for the injury/illness rather than just a year which a lot of insurance compaies do.
If the pancreas problem is possily going to be a long term thing then pet plan will probably be best.

Our dog is with Paws, they ave us £6000 vet fees and were brilliant when our dog was hit by car and spent 2 weeks at Royal Vet college and vet treatment for 6 months. He has had his pelvis and back leg pinned and plated together. Total vet fees were £8500, so we only had to pay £2500.
We then our renewal through with no exclusions and another £6k vet fees. Payments were prompt and they were good to deal with.

thing is if it has already been diagnosed you may have a problem with insurance unless your vet doesn't say that he has already diagnosed it or if you change vets.

nfu are great, we got our pup insured and within 3 months she needed keyhole surgery on her shoulder and a lifetime of medication, they were great and sorted everything out straight away. Very good to deal with too! (by the way, the cost of her op and treatment so far is about £4000, good job she was insured!!!)

Thankyou for all the suggestions guys
